Description:
Reporting to the Batching Supervisor, the Chemical Plant Operator is responsible for mixing\/blending of <\/p>
materials, operation of process equipment, and related duties. They will maintain production records <\/p>
and ensures standard operating procedures are being followed. They will be required to comply with all <\/p>
regulatory, safety and environmental requirements. <\/p>
<\/p>
Key Responsibilities <\/b><\/p>
\u2022 Responsible for mixing\/blending of materials, paint matching, and operation of process equipment <\/p>
\u2022 Monitor the performance of plant equipment and process conditions utilizing various <\/p>
instruments, gauges and meters <\/p>
\u2022 Unloading of rail cars and tank wagons <\/p>
\u2022 Operate a forklift to stage materials <\/p>
\u2022 Responsible for assuring the product is made correctly according to standard manufacturing orders <\/p>
\u2022 Complete production reporting and quality control reporting in a timely and accurate manner <\/p>
\u2022 Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. <\/p>
\u2022 Perform quality control analysis during the manufacturing steps, including drawing samples of <\/p>
raw materials or from the process for laboratory testing <\/p>
\u2022 Must follow all safety procedures, act in a safe manner at all times and have an understanding <\/p>
and awareness of chemicals and their nature, hazards, safety and health issues etc. (MSDS's, use of PPE etc.)<\/p>
\u2022 Maintain a neat and orderly work area <\/p>
\u2022 Performs other related duties as assigned. <\/p> Requirements:
\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate\u2019s degree or higher a plus. <\/p>
\u2022 2+ years in a chemical plant environment is desired, Paint\/Color matching experience a plus <\/p>
\u2022 Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills <\/p>
\u2022 Able to work overtime and nights as required <\/p>
Knowledge \u2013 Skills \u2013 Abilities: <\/b><\/p>
\u2022 Ability to work well under minimal supervision <\/p>
\u2022 Attention to details, organization ability and ability to interact well with others. <\/p>
\u2022 Must be able to operate basic hand tools <\/p>
Physical Requirements: <\/b><\/p>
\u2022 Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment. <\/p>
\u2022 Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing, lifting <\/p>
objects up to 50 lbs. and pushing\/ pulling objects up to and including moving heavy drums <\/p>
weighing 440+ lbs. <\/p>
\u2022 Ability to stand for long periods of time. <\/p>
\u2022 Able work in changing temperatures, indoors and out <\/p>
