This includes\n\ninterviewing and collecting patient information, including pain assessment, pulse\n\nrate, temperature, height &amp; weight, blood pressure and other relevant details.\n\n* Records information in patient&#39;s electronic medical record.\n* Administers medications, as appropriate or ordered by a medical provider, orally,\n\nor by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection, and notes time and amount in\n\npatients&#39; electronic charts, applies compresses, both hot and cold as indicated.\n\n* Observes patient and reports adverse reactions to the clinic physician.\n* Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment to administer\n\nroutine diagnostic test and treatments, including glucometers, pulse oximeters,\n\nnebulizers, oxygen equipment, spirometry, eye exams, etc.\n\n* Dresses wounds and incisions, interprets physician&#39;s instructions to patients,\n\nassists with\n\nemergencies, and performs related tasks, as directed.\n\n* Collects lab specimens, including but not limited to urine, blood and sputum, from\n\npatients for testing and may perform waived laboratory tests on these specimens.\n\n* Cleans treatment rooms, equipment and supplies using approved manufacture\n\nwipes and\/or solutions.\n\n* Submits any received laboratory and radiology results to medical providers and\n\nprovides private practice results to VA for scanning or scans results into patient&#39;s medical records after the provider has reviewed.\n\n* Inputs all patients&#39; information into VISTA\/CPRS\n* Completes any and all clinical reminders &quot;due&quot; at the time of each patient visit.\n* May assist with front desk for check-in, check-out and phone coverage.\n* Assists in co-managed care collaboration with non-VA providers, and facilities.\n* Provides patient and family health education with a focus on self-management,\n\nprevention, wellness, related health issues and healthy lifestyle choices.
